We understand that emergencies rise up, and equipment breaks down. We know that when your crane or hoist stops working, it means a loss of productivity to your company as well as a potential safety hazard. We carry a supply of spare parts to get you up and running as quickly as possible. Anything we don’t have in stock we can order from our vast vendor network for fast delivery, so you can get back on schedule. At North Star Overhead Crane & Hoist, we are here to serve you.

Hoist Sales

All brands of pneumatic, electric, manual hoists and trolleys

Hoist repair, refurbish and load testing

Hoists are repaired or refurbished to meet factory specs. All hoists up to 10 ton capacity are tested on our dynamic hoist test stand prior to being returned to service. The test stand helps us quickly diagnose problems with your hoist and once the repair is complete, verifies without question that the hoist can safely lift and hold its rated load.

Crane Modernization

Sometimes with older cranes it can be a cost effective option to retrofit the crane with modern components. We can assess your crane and your needs for that crane and propose modern components such as: Variable Frequency Drives, Radio Controls, Anti Collision Devices, Hoists, Trolleys, Electrification, Festoon, or End Trucks to make an old crane perform like a new crane with modern safety features.

OSHA required inspections as detailed in OSHA 1910.179(j)(1) and ASME B30.2

Crane, Runway, Monorail Design and Sales

We can design an engineer approved system to meet your needs. We can provide a CAD approval drawing of the crane system designed to CMAA specs.

Crane, Hoist, and Runway Installation

We can work with you to perform a safe, efficient, turnkey installation of your equipment.

Sling and Rigging Fabrication, Repair and Proof Testing

We can design custom slings or under hook devices. We can proof test your slings or lifting devices in accordance with OSHA 1910.184(e)(4) and ASME B30.9

Sling and Rigging Inspection

OSHA required inspections as detailed in OSHA 1910.184(e)(3)(i) and ASME B30.9
